Long Thanksgiving Weekend

We'll be off your radar until Monday morning, and we hope you'll get to enjoy dinner with your loved ones. If you're working, our hats are off to you for being there to treat our indigestions — and worse.

And if you're traveling through one of the five U.S. airports with designated smoking areas, avoid the areas adjacent to them. According to an MMWR article, being near a designated smoking area gets you four times the level of "respirable suspended particulates" found in areas farther away. By the way, those airports are Denver International, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International, McCarran International in Las Vegas, Salt Lake City International, and Washington Dulles International.

With regard to food, the New York Times had an interesting Thanksgiving proposal a couple of years back, which they've republished. Remember, it's just a "serving suggestion," as they say on the cereal boxes.

Enjoy yourselves; be safe.
