WHO Likely Won't Attempt Cholera Vaccination Campaign in Yemen

By the Editors

The World Health Organization says it will not likely follow through on a plan to send 1 million doses of cholera vaccine to Yemen, the New York Times reports.

In June, the WHO had planned on mounting a vaccination campaign, but they cited civil war and the disease's wide reach — about 5000 new cases a day — as significant barriers. Officials said vaccine doses meant for Yemen would likely be sent to other areas.
