Saline from Spain and Norway to Help Alleviate Shortage

To help deal with the ongoing shortage of normal saline in the U.S. the FDA will temporarily allow Baxter Healthcare Corp. to distribute saline made in its Spanish plant. The FDA will also allow Fresenius Kabi to import saline from Norway. Three U.S. manufacturers are currently producing saline, but all these efforts are still not enough to fix the current shortage, the FDA says.
