Here are today's highlights from the European Society of Cardiology Congress in Amsterdam:
ICAP: When added to anti-inflammatory agents, colchicine significantly improved outcomes after a first attack of pericarditis.
EchoCRT: In a randomized trial, cardiac resynchronization therapy showed no benefit in patients with narrow QRS and echocardiographic dyssynchrony — and also suggested possible harm.
Tour de France: A study of 786 French participants in the Tour de France from 1947 through 2012 showed that racers live, on average, 6 years longer than their counterparts in the general population.
