Daniel J. Pallin, MD, MPH, is Research Director for the Department of Emergency Medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital and teaches epidemiology at Harvard Medical School. With residency training in both emergency medicine and public health/preventive medicine, Dr. Pallin's interests lie in the application of epidemiological methods to patient-oriented research. He focuses on infectious diseases but also conducts research in airway management, information technology, and other topics. Dr. Pallin has been writing for NEJM Journal Watch Emergency Medicine since 2003.
