Louis M. Bell, MD, is a Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, the Associate Chair for Clinical Activities and the Division Chief of General Pediatrics at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). He is the holder of the Patrick S. Pasquariello, Jr., MD Chair in Pediatric Medicine. Dr. Bell has published more than 70 peer-reviewed research publications and over 40 chapters and reviews with a focus on understanding the epidemiology and improving the treatment and management of pediatric infectious diseases and general pediatric hospital care. He is also the Director of the Pediatric Research Consortium (PeRC), a Practice-Based Research Network (PBRN) at CHOP with a mission to improve ambulatory care of children through clinical research. The network consists of 31 primary care practices with more than 160 providers in Philadelphia and the surrounding areas. Dr. Bell has served on the editorial board of NEJM Journal Watch Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine since 2011.
