Robert C. Knowlton, MD, MSPH, is Associate Professor of Neurology at the University of Alabama, Birmingham (UAB), where he serves as Director of the Seizure Monitoring Unit and Director of the UAB-HSF (Health Services Foundation) Magnetoencephalography Laboratory. Dr. Knowlton received his medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans, completed his neurology residency at the University of California, Los Angeles, and completed a fellowship in epilepsy and neurophysiology at the University of California, San Francisco. He received a Master of Science in Public Health at the UAB School of Public Health. He joined the faculty at the UAB Epilepsy Center in 1999. He is board certified in neurology and clinical neurophysiology, with additional certification in brain magnetic resonance imaging/computed tomography interpretation by the American Society of Neuroimaging. Dr. Knowlton conducts research focusing on clinical decision making and neuroimaging in the surgical treatment of epilepsy and brain tumors.
