Frederick A. Masoudi, MD, MSPH, FACC, FAHA, is Professor of Medicine in the Division of Cardiology at the University of Colorado Denver (UCD), where his teaching actively involves medical residents and fellows, emphasizing evidence-based practice. A practicing clinical cardiologist at UCD, Dr. Masoudi has also served as the clinical coordinator for initiatives sponsored by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to measure and improve the quality of care for Medicare beneficiaries with cardiovascular disease and as Senior Medical Officer of the National Cardiovascular Data Registries. His research focuses on the delivery of medical care and health outcomes in patients with cardiovascular disease in community settings. He has been writing for NEJM Journal Watch Cardiology since 2005.
