Martin T. Stein, MD, is Professor of Pediatrics at the University of California, San Diego/Rady Children's Hospital, San Diego. A clinician and educator who maintains an active practice, Dr. Stein edited the American Academy of Pediatrics' Guidelines for Health Supervision III, co-chaired the committee that developed the AAP’s practice guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of attention deficit-hyperactivity disorders, and is coauthor of the textbook Encounters with Children: Pediatric Behavior and Development. He is a past president of the Society for Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics. Dr. Stein is particularly interested in the development of methods to incorporate developmental and behavioral concepts into the practice of pediatrics. Dr. Stein has served on the editorial board of NEJM Journal Watch Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine since its inception.
