Dr. Komaroff is Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School. He served for 15 years as Director of the Division of General Medicine and Primary Care at Brigham and Women's Hospital; was the hospital's Vice President for Management Systems; was for 18 years the editor-in-chief of the Harvard Health Publications division of Harvard Medical School; and is the Founding Editor of NEJM Journal Watch General Medicine. He maintained a primary care medical practice for 44 years. Dr. Komaroff has published more than 270 research articles and book chapters, and two books; has served on advisory committees for the Surgeon General, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the National Academy of Sciences; and has been elected to fellowship in the American College of Physicians and the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
