Search Help

NEJM Journal Watch search is designed for sophisticated collections of medical information. When a user searches for information, the search engine looks for not just literal matches, but matches with relevant metadata (i.e., medical terms and their synonyms). The result is that content, although written by multiple authors and derived from many resources, is completely integrated and connected by these topic-based medical language tags.

What’s the difference between the search box in the header on each page, and the search box within search results or on a Browse page?

The search box in the header on every page is a basic search box. It will generate a set of results based on the terms you entered, with all the default settings returned (All specialties, past 25 years). The search box within the results set keeps the filters you’ve already applied to your results and executes a search on a new term with those same settings intact. For more detailed information on search functions, please go to our Search Help page.

Can I save my searches on JWatch.org?

We do not support saved searches at this time.

Where can I find Medline search?

We do not support Medline search through the JWatch.org site, but you may access Medline here.
